We’re looking for a mission-oriented Engineer to expand our core API product.

Changing jobs is incredibly hard, particularly for the 80m working Americans who haven’t gone to college. Nevertheless, a person’s past work may have given them many of the skills they need to succeed in a seemingly different job.

AdeptID is a social-impact venture using machine learning to improve job mobility. We match talent to jobs and training on the basis of underlying skills and real employment data – and we are specifically focused on jobs that don’t require college degrees.

We want to make our technology easy to integrate into any workforce or talent application. That is why we have prioritized the development of an API so that anyone can access our matching capabilities as a service. We’re launching v1 of our API Product in June 2021 and we are looking for a backend developer to help us refine and expand (See doc center at docs.adept-id.com).

As a Backend Engineer, you will:

  • Work closely with the founding team to execute against the API product roadmap

  • Develop new endpoints

  • Be responsible for QA / testing protocols

  • Perform bug fixes

Our ideal candidate

  • Experience building with AWS (ECS, RDS, API Gateway, Fargate, Lambda)

  • Fluent in Python API development (Flask/Django)

  • Interest and/or experience in the talent, workforce, and/or education problems

What we can offer

  • An important mission

  • A fascinating technical problem (i.e. an opportunity to make human talent legible)

  • Opportunity to join an exciting venture in its early stage

  • Competitive early-stage compensation and benefits

We believe that everyone is adept.
