We connected with Michael Simpson, CEO and Co-Founder of PAIRIN, to get the inside scoop on their work that provides states and workforce systems with career planning and case management tools. We’re proud to be their partners, and are happy to feature them here!

PAIRIN’s Founding Story

Before founding PAIRIN, CEO Michael Simpson spent seven years living abroad helping individuals from disadvantaged communities learn key business skills to further their careers and meet personal aspirations. Coming back to the United States, Michael wanted to continue helping those with non-traditional upbringings succeed in their desired careers, so he co-founded PAIRIN. 

“In a world that is defined by the diploma hanging on your wall, we wanted to build a society where companies identify and hire employees based on the valuable skills they bring to the table, not just by the words on their resumes.”

Michael realized that it wasn’t just hiring that needed to change, but also the access to services that give people the opportunity to realize their potential. That work began in 2018 with PAIRIN’s My Journey platform, which launched in July 2019.

PAIRIN’s Values and Mission

“PAIRIN was founded on the belief that all people have amazing value, but most of us never realize our potential. People are too often put into ill-fitting boxes, told we can’t, won’t and will never be able to attain our dreams. Many people hear this so much they never even dream big, or pursue their goals as if they are truly attainable. At PAIRIN, this is something we want to change.”

PAIRIN and AdeptID’s Partnership

PAIRIN and AdeptID found each other through Nasir Qadree at Zeal and Yigal Kerszenbaum at JFF, who had been trying to link the two companies for a while given our shared mission and complementary tech capabilities. As an opportunity for growth on both ends, AdeptID and PAIRIN finally had a chance to connect earlier this year.

PAIRIN already has successful career navigation apps in five states, and they had a really ambitious vision for how they could use data to improve outcomes and connect stakeholders. AdeptID can help PAIRIN get there faster by improving and enhancing their career matching algorithms. 


PAIRIN, with the partnership and help from AdeptID, intends to become the premiere platform for case management and career navigation for states and municipalities. PAIRIN strives to change the way workforce and education connect to foster a seamless, rewarding and relevant journey for students and career-seeking professionals.
